Westward, Ho! is a multi-media journal created and published by Mackenzie Sains.

Through essays, poems, photographs, audio, and video Westward, Ho! approaches themes of spiritual ecology and personal expansion.

I created Westward, Ho! when I lived in Colorado as a container for my own personal expansion; I needed something greater than myself, somewhere to make sense of the animate earth and the unprecedented changes, some way to try and translate what my heart was learning.
And so Westward, Ho! was birthed, centered on movement forth and the art of expansion.
It is exploration steadied on the foundations that beauty is revealed through a learner's posture, a humble heart, and third eye open. Exploration not as conquest or adventure, but rather curiosity of what it means to be a relational being, of the unfurling world, of who I am amidst it all.
This space was created to share essays and poems centered on themes of spiritual ecology and relatedness. My hope was to contribute to the great weave that is threading us back to the land and back to a place of sacred relationships. Relationships to ourselves, to our kin, and to this gracious planet that holds it all.

So, where do we go from here?
Towards the Light we go–
