If I Ever Meet This Moment Again

Sapphire Pool
The sultry sapphire pool beckons me;
siren calls seduce me deep
into the hues so blue I wonder
if this is the color of god?
And if it is–
what am I to do?
Sulfur rises and the earth’s core rises
and I watch my shadow as it rises
drifting over the edges of earth
hovering above crust so fragile
that if my own flesh approached
I would melt into this rising magma
Do I bow? Do I pray? Do I close my eyes–
blindly follow into this absence
amidst all that is
What can be said to everything
accumulating to this _____
only to form
The deepest nothing I’ve ever known
An emptiness so holy, I am whole
So if I meet this moment again–
I will let down my hair, remove my shoes,
step gracefully and deeply into the Blue
asking god to melt it all away until I AM
Nothing but the rising of electric
hue so haunting, it’s not even blue
Color so palpable, it can’t be seen
